Membership of the Society is available to anyone who is interested upon completion of the online application form and payment of your membership fees on our PayPal page.

Benefits

In return for their subscription, members of the Society receive

  • a copy of the Society’s quarterly journal The Library
  •  free online access to both current and archive issues of the journal back to 1889. New members will receive login and password information directly from OUP.
  • a copy of each work published by the Society (on average once a year)
  • the right to buy one extra copy of any book published by the Society at a special members’ price
  • attendance at the Society’s programme of monthly lectures (from October to May) , preceded by tea and followed by a drinks reception, at the Society of Antiquaries, London
  • participation in the Society’s summer visit to a library.

Costs

An annual subscription costs £33.00 (overseas £37.00; US $65). There is a reduced rate of £25.00 or US $45 for full-time students and anyone over the age of 65. Life membership is available for those over 60 at a cost of £300.00. Enquiries can be sent to the Society’s Honorary Treasurer or to your local Honorary Secretary listed here.

Next Steps

After filling out the Membership Application Form, you’ll be directed to our PayPal page where you can send us your membership fees. You don’t need a PayPal account; you can pay through PayPal with any major credit card by clicking on the “Pay with Debit or Credit Card” button after you select your membership category and click “Buy Now”.

Renewal

If you are already a member, you can renew by filling out the brief Membership Renewal Form. Once you’ve identified yourself and clicked on “Submit” you’ll be taken to the PayPal page where you can pay your dues for your membership category.
