Elizabeth Quarmby Lawrence has reported a newly discovered item from John Dee's library: a copy of Hector Boece, Scotorum historiae a prima gentis origine, Paris, 1574, in Edinburgh University Library. It is with great regret that the Society announces the death of Dr Anthony Hobson. Dr Hobson (born 1921) was a former President of the Society (1977-1979) and was awarded the Society's Gold Medal in 1992. He passed away peacefully at home on Saturday 12 July.
